Adam was born and raised in Wokingham, his family's businesses have served the town for three generations. He entered funeral service more than twenty years ago, qualifying as a funeral director in 1990 and trained as an embalmer in 2002. Adam's dedication to the profession was recognised in 2003 when he was elected the youngest ever National President of the National Association of Funeral Directors. He is very proud of the very high standards at Miles & Daughters and is always available to personally arrange and conduct funerals. Adam is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Liveryman of the City of London and also holds the Freedom of the City of London. Rachel is married to Jaz and they live in Finchampstead with their four children, Alicya, Lauren, Reuben and Verity.
Brian Miles
Brian is Adam and Rachel's father. He spent over 30 years running the family businesses until "retirement" and passing on the reins to Adam. Brian now regularly helps on funerals and often comments, that he seems to work more hours now than he did before retirement! Brian has a tremendous interest in horses and is known for his considerable skill in carriage driving. Brian has homes in Wokingham and West Cork, Eire.

Vanessa was born and raised in Reading. Having spent her schooldays in Wokingham she studied, also at Reading, for an arts degree, specializing in graphic design. As our Community Liaison Manager, Vanessa is responsible for maintaining our relationships with medical professionals, clergy and other caring professions. Vanessa is also responsible for the design and print of our newsletter and publicity materials, including the production and delivery of the public presentations that we provide to groups throughout the area.

Carole spent several years working within large companies before deciding to join our family business for a more personal approach to her work. In her role as manager at Isabella House, Carole is responsible for the day to day running of the office, administration and the arranging and conducting of funerals. Carole lives in Woodley with her dog, Sweepy.
Roz Perrotton
Roz began her career in funeral service in 1983 and ran a branch office for a large family owned business in Middlesex for many years.
Having decided to move to enjoy a quieter life in a less built up area, Roz came to work with us and is now the manager of our Crowthorne office.
Roz is married, has two grown up sons and lives in Crowthorne Village.
Sylvia Weatherill
Sylvia worked in the accountancy profession as a Secretary/PA for a number of years. Due to the recession of 2009 she was made redundant. Sylvia felt that this gave her the opportunity for a career change and thought that by working in the funeral service she could help others at a difficult time in their lives. Sylvia now assists Roz in the running of our Crowthorne office. Sylvia enjoys reading, listening to music of all types and is a keen gardener. Sylvia lives in Finchampstead.
George Cody
George had a long career in banking before moving on to specialise in will writing. He joined Miles & Daughters as a hearse driver and having impressed us with his dedication to client care, is now the manager at the Old Clock House. George lives in Wokingham.
David Gould
David was previously employed at Broadmoor Hospital as a healthcare assistant for over 23 years. He also spent eight years as the caretaker of the Keephatch School in Wokingham. David is also proud of his eight years as a retained firefighter for Wokingham Fire Service. As our "fleet and facilities manager", it is David's responsibility to ensure that all company vehicles and company premises are kept to the highest standards at all times. He is also our senior hearse driver. David is married to Angela and they live in Crowthorne.
John Bingham
John served an apprenticeship as a printer and, for many years, operated as a print salesman. He left the print business to set up a car hire business in Westminster and chauffeured the likes of Kenneth Williams and Doris Day to and from studios. We are grateful for John's expertise in keeping our funeral fleet in excellent condition. Eventually, following a long held ambition, John opened his own restaurant, the hugely popular "Lucan's Bistro" in Wokingham. Having retired in 2000, John came to "help out" at Miles and Daughters and has been with us ever since. John is married to Jane and they live in Wokingham.
Roger Coles
Roger spent over 33 years as a psychiatric nurse at Broadmoor Hospital. Having taking early retirement in February 2008, Roger decided that a change was as good as a rest and came to work with us in March 2008. He has risen rapidly through the ranks and has now become our senior limousine driver. Roger is also the Provincial Librarian and Curator at Sindlesham Masonic centre. Roger is married to Cecilia and lives in Sandhurst.
Richard Powell
Richard is famed for the high polish on his shoes and has taught the "secret of the shine" to all other staff. Over 14 years service in the Coldstream Guards probably helped him to achieve such perfection! He served in Germany, Hong Kong and Cyprus before leaving to take up a career in In Flight Catering at London's Heathrow airport. Richard then decided to retrain as a plumber and is still a Gas Safe registered plumber today. Luckily, on his days off, Richard helps out with funerals and is a much valued member of the team. Richard is married to Angela and they live in Owlsmoor.
Antony Hodgson
"Tony" Hodgson has been working with Adam for over 14 years. He began as a funeral director and, whilst continuing in this role, is also now often found as the Master of Ceremonies at funerals. Tony has had a varied and interesting career. He is well known as a writer & recording producer. He has a particular interest in music of the 18th century and has written a book about the symphonies of Joseph Haydn. His interest in Czech music led him to write extensively on the subject in the 1970s and 1980s and the Czech authorities, then part of a Communist regime, chose to give him an award for services to Czech music. Tony is also a highly respected music critic and regularly writes for various national music magazines. Tony is married to Gill and they live in Ascot.
