Miles & Daughters Funeral Planning

Increasingly people are making their own funeral arrangements in order to make things easier for those left behind. Many choose to make their own funeral arrangements in advance to guarantee their own specific wishes for their funeral..

It is possible to make arrangements for your funeral in advance by simply communicating your wishes to us and without making a pre-payment for any services.

We will store the information, such as the place for a funeral service, favourite hymns or readings, a choice of coffin, instructions regarding floral tributes etc. and keep it safe until it is required. We will then endeavour, with the permission of your executors or your family, to carry out those wishes. There is no charge for pre-arrangement in this way.

Alternatively, you may wish to pre-arrange and pre-pay for your funeral. This guarantees that your wishes will be taken into account and will also guarantee the funeral directors fees at today's prices. You may also make a payment towards third party costs (disbursements) such as crematorium or cemetery fees, doctor's and minister's fees. All payments made are placed into a secure fund and are only made available to us in the event of the death of the plan beneficiary. If our company should, for any reason, cease to trade, your money is safe.

The added benefit of the fund is that, if you should wish to move away from the area, you may still use the pre-arranged funeral in most areas of the UK.

There is also an option for couples to arrange just one funeral and utilise the plan for the first of them who passes away. This can be particularly useful where most assets are tied up in property etc. because the second person’s funeral can then be financed from the estate.
