Registering the Death

By law all deaths in England and Wales must be registered, once the Medical Cause of Death Certificate has been issued by the deceased's doctor and usually within five days of death. When H.M. Coroner is involved, the Coroner's officer dealing with the case will advise you when registration may take place. We can assist you in obtaining all necessary paperwork and are always happy to advise and assist in every way.

Registering the death will take about half an hour; you will need to make an appointment beforehand. You'll find contact details for local register offices below:
