25 Years of Community Support Celebrated with Community Fund

Celebrating a quarter-century of community service, Berkshire Funeral Directors Miles & Daughters launched their inaugural community fund, awarding nearly £6,000 to six local causes.

In the first round, recipients included:

  • The Way Ministry Reading: £1,477 for an emergency night shelter for the homeless
  • The Cowshed, Wokingham: £1,5000 for Noah Boxes aiding those in personal crises
  • Kilnsea Pre-school, Reading: £1,000 for a garden renovation
  • Wokingham & District Association for Elderly (WADE): £1,000 for a lounge area refurbishment
  • No5 Young People, Reading: £850 for continued mental health support

Applications for the next round, benefiting causes within a three-mile radius of Miles & Daughters branches branches in Winnersh, Reading, Whitley Wood, Twyford, Bracknell, Crowthorne, Maidenhead, and Tadley, will open on February 1, 2024. As part of the Funeral partners network, Miles & Daughters remains committed to community support.

Berkshire Area Development Manager, Sarah White, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and encouraged other organisations to apply in February. The Miles and Daughters community fund exemplifies their ongoing dedication to making a positive impact in the communities they serve.
