Community Activities
Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica in October 2025, St George’s Church Reverend Polly Falconer and the Jamaica Society and Friends Reading organisation came together to organise a fundraiser upholding service in support of Jamaica.
Lisa Parker, Funeral Director at Miles & Daughters was contacted by Reverend Polly Falconer, asking if she could assist with printing the orders of service for the charity event. Miles & Daughters were able to supply 100 copies for the event completely free of charge as a donation.
Lisa was thankful for the opportunity to help in a small way, with the money being raised at the service being able to make such a difference to the people of Jamaica.
The service raised an impressive £1,011 with more than 100 people in attendance.
