The Miles & Daughters Community Fund has previously supported a number of charities with grants worth more than £13,000 to allow them to continue their outstanding work.
Applications are now back open for groups based close to Miles & Daughters Funeral Directors funeral homes in Winnersh, Reading, Whitley, Twyford, Binfield, Crowthorne, Maidenhead and Tadley, to apply for support.
Grants are available to fund local activities which improve the quality of life of residents and the wider community.
Projects must align with one of more of the four fund categories – Health, Education, Employment Opportunities and Poverty and Social Deprivation.
Amongst the groups who have previously received grants include The Way Ministry Reading who were helped to fund an emergency night shelter for people experiencing homelessness, Reading-based counselling service No5 Young People who were funded to continue mental health support for local distressed and vulnerable people and Purley Pre-School in Tilehurst who used their grant to improve their garden and outdoor play area.
Area Development Manager Sarah White said: “I’m so glad the Community Fund is returning – and I cannot wait to hear from the groups doing such brilliant work who need a little bit of support.
“It is not just about giving them grants.
“We want to make genuine, long-term connections with these groups and see how the support we can offer them will impact on the work they do.
“It’s a privilege to be able to do this, with the support of our parent company, Funeral Partners.”
